He Moved On

He Moved On

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

2/4/16

"
It is a lonely feeling
When you realize someone is gone
When their absence has finally reached your heart

That such loneliness eats away at me now
As I failed to notice right away
When a friend walked out on me

That friend is not going to come back now

My selfish mind can think of nothing
But my own misfortune
At the loss of what was once a loved one

Truly, I am consumed by this selfish loneliness
Even though he has gone on
To a place he has always wanted to be

I just wish I could have said goodbye
