Faltering Faith

Faltering Faith

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee

I'm feeling low today, dear Lord,

So depressed and blue,

I wonder when I feel this way ;

Have I lost my faith in you ?

Did your faith ever falter, Lord ?

Did you feel saddened, too ?

I'm sure that if you ever did;

No weakness was in you.

I know that I should raise my head,

Your blessings now to see,

But all that I can do, dear Lord;

Is cry, Me ! Me ! Me !

I'll read your word again, O Lord,

And strive to understand,

I'll try to fortify my faith;

And hold your ever present hand.

This poetic prayer reflects the sentiments of many, when faced with the whisperings of the enemy. I was drawn to the following scripture for strength and understanding;

1 Corinthians 10:13 (The Message)

13 No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he'll never let you be pushed past your limit; he'll always be there to help you come through it.

How sweet this piece is!! Absolutely lovely! It's wonderful to get this insight into your faith and I love the part about you asking God if he feels that way, too. It is a good conversational touch that shows us how personal your relationship is. And yes.....when we look for the answers (via book, meditation, etc).... they do usually come. Awesome job on this, and I hope you are feeling better!! Much love~~

When we ask HIM for help , we always receive an answer ... sometimes the answer is no. It doesn't mean he won't or can't help, it simply means we have to work this problem out for ourselves. Yet if we look closely, he helps us find the means to do exactly that.

We have free will , sometimes we do falter and fuss, sometimes we find our own way, sometimes we don't. After all, we are human , not gods.

Even though you falter, you KNOW he is there and all you need to do is reach out.

Norma, this is a beautiful, heartfelt poem and your belief shines through in every word.

Never ever lose your faith in God, sometimes he is the only one who is there for us, he isn't the cause of our sadness, we are, but he is the one who always will lift us out of it, if you just ask him sincerely, he doesn't fail too often and if he does, know that it is in his bigger plan for us.
