You Can't Feel My Pain

You Can't Feel My Pain

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee
"

Lyrics To my son.

"

I sit here and talk to you,

While tears run down my face,

You seem to think it's just a game.

You can see my tears,

You can hear my words,

But you can't feel my pain.

Chorus:

For the pain I have inside of me,

Is something you can't feel,

You might think it's make believe,

But my tears are for real.

I feel so lost and all alone,

As my tears fall like rain,

And though you think you understand,

You just can't feel my pain.

A pictures worth a thousand words,

A penny for your thoughts,

How I wish that I could explain.

You can taste the salt,

That's locked up in my tears,

Oh, but you can't feel my pain.

Sorry for dumping on everyone but it's good therapy I'm told.

Indeed, it is great therapy Norma jean, and to be able to express the heart
as passionately as you do, is a gift of talent, as well as the lyrical ambition
that sets the writing into motion, one can feel the pain behind every sincere word
spoken with truth and caring, your son is indeed lucky to have a mother
who is so supportive, the writing itself, impressive and moving, and painfully
]expressed, one can feel the teardrops flowing from your pen, excellent writing.

I like the middle verse of eight lines. That seems so natural, which is probably why the first and third verses feel truncated somehow. It's as if you've left something out. In the final verse, there seems to be a hiatus between the third and fourth lines. They don't fit. I think it could do with working on, but that's just my humble opinion.
