Burning the Midnight Hour

Burning the Midnight Hour

A Poem by jenkey83

Tonight I want

At the word love

Your soul darling

What is coming

From midnight to morning

My ghost

To live beneath it all

Questions and the choice

Everyone I’ve ever loved

Me

Escape your mind

Your name

Is left wondering why

It suddenly keeps time

Of the glow and the ache

Past desires are fate when you

Look at what’s under your feet

Remember to unlock the secrets to moving forward

When did it escape my lips

Time trembled

Centuries were wasted

On thoughts of your heart

My voice stumbling on being left

Of I’m sorry

Because thoughts are always green

Pieces I’m left in

Are small

Cracking wax

Knowing never will I

Hold you again
