Brother

Brother

A Poem by Jennie Love

Selfish acts
have brought down upon you
weights that can never be lifted.
Doubt and unforgiveness
lyes up top your head
like a thunderstorm on sunday,
never to be lifted.
Beautiful sun, shines for an hour
but never can disperse
those blackened clouds.
Becuase darkness has hovered here before
and brought a nasty downfall
that took years to forget
that one dampned day.
Why even start to remember
those warm rays
brightening the apples of your cheeks?
For they will only end in messy puddles
and soaked hems of your slacks.
