a god that is yours

a god that is yours

A Poem by jennifer little

as thy slender beams of radiance has entered thy darkened prison,
as i begun to kneel,
i begun to kneel,
lying here silent,
fearful as i lye frozen here,
waiting as the robed forms pass us by,
as the glass loom dust shall dance within,
forming an image in my mind,
sparing my shamed soul,
as reflection on humanity's race,
i shall raise my head,
as i begin to kneel before my callous fate,
then you shall see the god that is yours

I have seen scripture wielded as a weapon. It destroys self esteem insidiously. The Bible is as deadly in some hands as a terrorist's bomb.
I have also seen great good done by those who respect divine power and use it's teaching as compassionately as they can.
But sadly, the former outnumber the latter. And too often, I wonder if God even cares. These are the reflections this poem brings to mind. One day, maybe you or someone like you can change this?
Well, I've rambled enough. Deeply thought about. Amazing words and emotions. Well written, poet.
