drunken slooper

drunken slooper

A Poem by jennifer little

as the alcohol begins to settle in,
the drugs begin to take over your veins,
they control your mind and soul,

drunken in a slooper,
never sober,
the drugs begin to rot your brain,

as the sadness kicks in,
heart breaks begin to settle in,

drunken and blacked out,
as the waves come crashing down,
your soul is rotting away slowly,
as it destroys your mind

Where were to poems like this when Nancy Reagan wanted us to "Just say no?"
I worked in those clubs and ministries that tried to promulgate the message. But for too many, being high was better than living. And now, the passion that drove my generation has faded.
