Stupid Little Lullaby

Stupid Little Lullaby

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

This skeleton that you've become cant measure up to you
I know what you are worth, and I know what you can do
But this sudden shift in your behavior shakes me to the core
I'd like for you to sing with me, if you don't feel it's a chore

Because I'm sure that your tired of feeling sad
But that's no excuse for making me feel so bad
And i'd like to set you free and color you in
But first you've got to tell me of the places you have been

And your soul is attached to your broken bones
It's dragged through the dirt, everyday as you walk home
Past those starry eyed people and their starry smiles
And you wish that you could feel like them, just for a while

But you need to find peace and find what you've lost
You're missing quite a lot, right now, and you pay the cost
With your folded up notes that you have cast aside
And your stupid little lullabies that still make you cry
