College

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

You and I have levels, but nothing's level here
We run around in circles as if everything's unclear
It isn't though, we spin in two directions, and we don't feel at all
You and I are like the stars, and like the stars we fall

And you're away from my fingertips, I like to feel your skin
But that's the only place I can't be with you, it's the only place I've been
Everywhere, some might say, but it's really just a fraction
I'm in your heart and mind and soul, that is if we have them

Night time is for sleeping, but I'd rather stay alert
And boxes are for keeping, but I think I'll wear your shirt
Don't forget to write me, you know I love your ink
I won't forget to sing to you, when you forget to think
