It's Not About You

It's Not About You

A Poem by Jessica Ryan
"

Learning to put yourself first is a hard adjust me, but is it ever so worth it.

"
It's Not About you, He says as he slams the door
it's my life I said and not a word more
I care and I love
But sometimes thats not good enough
Sometimes I don't want to be with you
Sometimes, I just need to be free
Don't manipulate, hate, or get frustrated with me
I don't understand what's changed
I do love you and I just need to be free
So, you're right, It's not about you, It's about me.

Too true. Who else could it be about.
You gotta be true to you. Otherwise, you have nothing real to offer anyhow.
Thank you for your very intriguing were.

Oh.. you capture a very harsh conversation of two lovers in words. Very deep and conceptual poetry it is. It speaks the "stories of love". In the world, such things're became way common, you know, "It's Not About You", so I guess, you here express a very thoughtful subject to let the world know what the realism of love is. It's all 'bout reality, not fantasy cos.. the fantasy only looks good in chapbooks. Excellent work! I'd be looking forward to reading you!
