A Poem by Junior Estrada
"

My first tinkering with the concept of prose. Did I get it?

"
Be yourself,
Always...

The problem with that is
that I am very boring. See,
from my stories and experiences to
everything I say or do, I am not
one to contemplate excitement.
Rather content to sit at home and
contemplate on problems while
not really caring for the solution,
I will not attempt to be interesting
in the least. But the world does
not work that way, no sir. It looks
up to those that make hell of their
lives. Those that erratically act as
part of their everyday lives. It is a
place where a drunken binge can
earn you millions and married life
of mere hours can potentially
increase your quality of life. So we
come to this, because when we do
put ourselves out there to be gleamed
at, we must choose, "should I be me or
shoud I be what I should?" The answer
is simple. Be what they ask of you.
Kiss up, lick boots, and tag along.
It is a drag, I know, but worrthwhile
in the end. Because when their mantle
falls, you'll be looked at to take it up,
which leads to the moment, that you
can finally do whatever the hell...

...you want.

Author's Note

Junior Estrada
Basically, the lines were cut off at certain points intentionally to mess with the next line. But I want my poetic prose to get better, so basically that.

You gotta mess with the lines a bit more. All in all, this is really good! Good job.

Hello there! I am an aspiring writer who likes to work on poetry and crime/suspense/thriller fiction. For now, I stick to short stories since I really do not have time to devote time to a novel. Bu.. more..
