Magic Wand

Magic Wand

A Poem by Jewel Chanda

A dark cold shade under the maple tree.
how could you claim to be free?
Shadow follows the body till the end.
Who wants to be an worthless saint?
In a morning dream, what you see?
Ask him, ask him, where's the key?
Let the shadow fall in love,
Let it travel through Pandoras' pub.
Don look for the magic wand,
Oh my dear, its in your hand.

Is this a metaphor about being obsessed with something? When you love something so much, you tend to watch at that thing every moment. It's like falling in love or in obsession of liking someone. You tend to be his/her shadow. The magic wand and key is in the hands of course of that person who wants to be loved... If he is true in what he says and do, then he could win that love.

I don't know if it makes sense but it's my take on this piece. Thanks for the share.

A beautiful entertaining poem, I dont know if I am correct but is it about finding yourself and the magic that lies in your own self which makes the things around you even more awesome.

Thank you buddy.. surely I vl do.. :)
I think perhaps people are never contented. They say that the grass is always greener on thee other side.We tend not to appreciate the blessings that we have and keep searching for something we already have.

You're welcome.
im not quite sure what to make of this entirely, but i enjoy the recurring "shadow" theme. the shadow seems to represent your potential upon initial examination. there with you the whole time, you see what it could be and then you see that you could be it. i enjoy the way its done, although im not inclined to enjoy inspirational writing, that is to say if im close at all to what it is actually about
