Desolation

Desolation

A Poem by JB Murray
"

Tovli Ten contest... these words really dictated this poem... making me think of an old western setting, where the hero is dragging himself through hell on one last dying breath. This was challenging

"

DESOLATION

Desolate

These birds of prey

Circling the drain

A face in shadows

Above the grave

This decaying trough

He crawled through

Hell’s oceans brimming

On this, his last breath

Only dead truly sleep

In these outer limits

Eyes fade gray

You hit the contest head on with this fantastic poem. It was very challenging indeed, especially just writing 40 words as well. Thank you for sharing!
