as the lights dim

as the lights dim

A Poem by Jason Galliger

The noise bleeds into my brain
Melting away all the pain
Blurry lines disconnect
As I feel my heart skip a step
Swimming thoughts
And warm sensations
Ecstasy flows in this moment of revelation
Rainbow flashing halos
Stretch through the crowd
Each moment it touches down, ppl getting loud
The pulse quickens to the tribal tempo
When the pyro goes off
-I smile-
It’s time for the show

Captured the essence of pre show jitters in rhyme and emotion. This encapsulates the feeling of that split second as the lights go out.

Nicely done

Very nice. This reminds me of performing. It's also the very opposite of what I want most of the time (as it reminds me of a very particular kind of pain it appears my brain must succumb to every now and then). Great work, all the same.
