Alone with GodA Poem by Juan Guerreroare you up there father beyond those blue heaven eyes that sail slowly across the ceiling of my world. are you up there as I tie my shoelaces and wait for the fruit to grow or the cows to give milk. do you think I'm lonely too are you lonely too. somewhere sitting on a throne loved and prayed to by everyone. i drink my milk, eat my toasted cookie, and I look outside for you out there, breathing maybe exhaling answers, inhaling requests i am too like you. one day I'll look at my children with your eyes and wonder what went wrong, but smile because they know where home is. © 2008 Juan Guerrero |
