The Island of Salvation

The Island of Salvation

A Poem by Jillian Alexis
"

I was thinkin about the beautiful beaches of Hawaii at night and somehow this came out...oh how i miss it so!

"

Salvation dances among the tree tops that bow to the glorious moon in surrender

Floral fragrances tickle the senses, intoxicating

Summoning the untamed soul

It is here where we can sail upon the waves of indigo in our most vulnerable façade

And unleash the dreams that ride amongst the tides like forgotten messages

Trapped inside a single bottle

In this place, ones freedom is embraced and held with the most delicate of intentions

Wearing just our skin, we rest upon the soft sands of sin and bask in the presence of those before us

I am sure many have found salvation in Hawaii the beaches there are incredible. I enjoyed your word use and the different ways you described things. Nice and sensual poetry.

I like how the title and 90% of the poem is about salvation, but then the last line, "Wearing just our skin, we rest upon the soft sands of sin", talks about being naked and reveling in sin. It's like you're saying the path to salvation is through the sins of the flesh. That is definitely interesting, as I mention the same thing in my "ONE NIGHT" piece I posted recently.

Nicely done.

Beautifully expressed.. life unleashed in all its splendour... You give this world the Edenic feeling and wonder it deserves! Oh, been to Hawaii just once.. can still feel the warmth of the waves.. yes.. a beautiful place for sure...
