Each and Everyday

Each and Everyday

A Poem by Audrey Bruckner

These past two days

i have been saved

by your gently touch

and your safe embrace

your blue eyes were wide

as my heart yearned to pump

my mind started to race

and my soul began to jump

into the unknown

the compassion

the lust

the feeling i got

just thinking of "us"

you held my hands

as they started to shake

gazing at you

nervous to blink

I was clinging desperate

to what might have been

all the while knowing

i'd never see you again

you took a step in

and pulled me close

letting go only

to give me a rose

then you asked me to

keep you near to my heart

and to dream of you

while we were apart

and if I watch the sunrise

each and everyday

I will always know

you are just a horizon away

you kissed me goodbye

then drove away

but know i still think of you

each and everyday
