"Love is watching someone die"

"Love is watching someone die"

A Poem by Ashley
"

Did you ever love someone or something so much, but they passed on? this is written for my father and i did mention my old dog, rip. i cried when i wrote this.

"
You left me here on earth
Without your presence
Still for many years
I try to linger my thoughts on
I can not hear your voice anymore
I only think I see shadows of you
Every now and then
Wishing I was in the wonderful place
Where you are now
When can be with each other again?
And see baseball games
Without you having cancer
Without you struggling to just breathe
My life is lame
The rest of the family yells
While my friends do not understand
I want to end my life
To just be with you, your soul
But I can not do it
Because Daddy's little girl is growing up
And you would want me to be strong and carry on
I know you are in a better place called Heaven
Up in the fluffy clouds
With our puppy
I have to let old pain go from the day you left
But father I still miss you
I always have a place for you in my heart
Even though you passed away and we are apart
Can you not see how much I need you now?
Things are getting harder
I hope to see you in my dreams
You always help me get through things
What about this time?
I think you will always protect me
Because I finally realize its not your fault
I will do anything to keep my memories
They are the only thing that keeps me sane
Even if I do have so much pain
I will still look up and see those shiny stars
Because they remind me of you

First off, I am truly sorry for you loss. I don't know what'd I'd do if I had to go through that. Second, you entered this poem in my contest, and I felt so touched by it that I felt the need to write a personal review. I almost cried when I read this, you are an amazing writer, and please keep with it. Also, expect an award in the contest(:

Love the effect of the blade moving into the readers chest, exposing the heart, lungs and inner workings which is the same level of depth of this work,

Anger, Rage, Loss, Humanity and Emotional, are not enough to describe this.

This is so beautiful. I mean, you wrote this with such raw emotion, and I could practically see you as you wrote it, and feel the way you feel. That's a very good quality. It's so deep, and really touched my heart.

Your heart shares such intimate thoughts and feelings.. so very sad to let go... Nothing or no one can replace the life of one you love once they are taken away.. Beautiful and bittersweet.. made me think of those I've lost as well.. So very sorry...

Very painful. I am terribly sorry about your loss. I guess, I can comprehend the feelings in this poem. Very harsh and cold. I like the way the emotions are just raw on paper, straight from the heart. That's nice.

Hi,
This poem is very centered around the author's point of view, feelings, and world. It seems to be centered around the loss of a love one, yet is very centered around the word "I" rather than being centered around the loss.

It does put a nice perspective on the grieving process, especially in terms to the person in morning.

Thanks for sharing.

Very good poem. Death is hard to deal with, but you can deal with it easier with writing about it.
