Princess of the Family

Princess of the Family

A Poem by idrinkjones

On the nights that Mom and he would scream till three

You would come running to me

You were so young, so frightened

As the older brother, all I begged was for silence

Whilst I sheltered you in my arms, I was scared too

Those days are now buried in the past

You have become so mature, so brave

I watch you grow into someone that I’d like my daughter to admire

You possess such eloquent beauty, the talent to reach any dream, and a heart that knows how to forgive and love

Remember how we used to say “I love you more than the earth to the stars”

It will be so till the end
