Eternity

Eternity

A Poem by MusterMyMonsters
"

This is personal, but I'm sure you can relate.

"

The allure of his smile, and the eternity of his eyes,

I was to fall to the sickening beauty of his foreshadowed lies,

I laced my fingers in the grasp of Satan’s grip,

Hoping to have the grace, but he forced me to slip,

Under the claw of his mighty weight, I tremble with care,

Though I still fall for him, and I’m lost within his burning stare,

The hooks are in deep and resisting the urge to unlatch,

I fight the terrible thought that I may be his final catch,

For he adores his little pet, little me,

But, I adore the temptation to be free,

My heart was a game for him to win, too easy, too fast,

Now he's the champion, and I’m the shadow he casts,

I linger with love, but with unchanging despair,

But, this love, he finds, he will never share,

The foreseeable future of me dies,

In the allure of his smile, and the eternity of his lie
