Dear Broken Heart

Dear Broken Heart

A Poem by Black Rose

I gave you the nutrition you needed to live

Now someone has damaged you

I am trying to find a way to make it up to you

I put you together with tape, glue, and staples

But nothing seems right

I need a helping hand to mend the missing pieces

Like a puzzle the edges do not fit it

An outsider had you in the palm of his hand

Dragged you with the bottom of his heel

And still I could feel you

You kept me strong for this long

Why must you abandon me at my weakest point?

Where is the warmth that used to invade my body?

Where is the smile you made creep across my face?

Now I am left with your absence and myself to blame

Maybe, when you get this you will forgive me.

Until then do not forgive the one who gave you life.

Sincerely,

Christen

I do like this! I love the sense of defeatism.
