A Day in the Sun

 Sun,

          high above us, blanketing us with warmth.

 

Sky,

         cloudless and a deep azure.

 

Breeze,

               cool and calm.

 

Grass,

            vibrant green, and hot in the sun.

 

Us,

      lying together, me in your arms.

 

Lips,

          soft, ours mesh together.

 

Kiss,

         caring, and filled with subtle emotion.

 

Time,

          passes quickly, as we drift away.

 

Skin,

           burnt and pale red.

 

The day,

                 spent in the sun, but more importantly. . .

 

Spent together.
