Blind Fellows Bask in their Dry Ice

Blind Fellows Bask in their Dry Ice

A Poem by joshua sky

Blind fellows bask in their dry ice,

(Sparks their creativity)

Unicorn hunters stop by and blink twice,

On their way to New York City.

Orion unfastens his belt as he prepares

To tame the lion.

Leo hides among the crystal felt and eludes

The whip without even tryin’.

In the vastness of time and space

The pursuit can take a while

Orion does not want a chase,

But this is the lion’s style.

Back on the Serengeti, where

Leo’s mother resides,

Destiny cries, “Are you ready?”

And Leo’s mother cries.

“What could be happening?” One might ask,

“To make such sadness ensue?”

Destiny gave Leo’s mother the task,

Of splitting Gemini in two.

The dry ice breaks up and Leo falls

Through the cracks,

While Paul Bunyan kills the unicorn

As a result of his mighty acts.

The blind fellows try to make amends with Orion

As he puts his belt back in place.

But after them his arrow is sent a-flyin’

Through the vastness of time and space.

Story gave reason and purpose for poetry and writing. Good to test the true reader. I believe we write for the few. Few people truly love the words and the meanings of poetry. I like this poem. You must read at least three times. The internal meaning leave the reader with sadness. I did like the blind man whom saw more than we know tried to make amends for the foolishness of Paul Bunyan. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.
