What is really me?

What is really me?

A Poem by journaling_thesp

What do you see
When you look at me?
The dark hair?
My sometimes vacant stare?
Or do you see
The girl they want me to be?
A girl without a care
Who is anything but rare?
What do you hear
When I speak loud and clear?
The words I thought
And for so long sought?
Or the mocking tear
That no one can cheer?
Or a girl who can't be bought
And for every word has fought?
What would you do
If you knew the girl in front of you -
The one who does so lead
Who you folllow without heed?
The words I speak are still not.through,
And everything I say you take to be true,
But as a tumbleweed starts as a seed,
I am not a girl who can be treed.
