In

A Poem by parentheses

a grassy field

beneath a cloudy sky

where it never rains

and no birds fly

nor bee, nor buzzard

nor cricket, nor crow

nothing dies

and nothing grows

there is not but time

time and more time

all alone, just I

and the thoughts in my mind

and I laugh to myself

at the thoughts passing by

as I think back to life

and how I’d prayed for more time

oh how I'd prayed

prayed til I cried!

now I just laugh

with tears in my eyes

for now that it's mine

a forever with time

all that I wish

is that I might die

Sounds like the lament of a retired person who has finally confronted the demon called boredom. Liked the brevity of expression very much.
