Dead Skin

Dead Skin

A Poem by J.S.R. Rayburn

Poem about skin.

If there is dead skin

Is there also living skin?

What is so lively

About skin?

Of all the body parts

That I can think of

That I’d call living

Skin isn’t

Anywhere near

The top of that list.

For skin just sits there

Lazily resting

Like a bulletproof vest.
