The key
Was found It turned the Lock And in her haste She tore her smock Her dimples blushed Her hair went red Her blue eyes flickered Outside her shaking head Her hand quivered now In abstract motion She needed to find Her magic potions She had found the Hidden secret Stash Of yummy sweets Of colours this ' n that She had hid them Oh so carefully sadly Her precious midnight candy Just last night Before her bed As prayers were said Their coloured foils Went white a distant blur Inside her sugar head Her lucid voice Was quite a quiver The demons sweet and Lovingly bade her to surrender They beckoned her to open Oh just one Just one my lady Take some candy But She closed that wooden box And threw it out her door With angry fist And well planned thrust And said to them To Those most colourful foils With a joyful whimper "Be Gone you sweets Oh please be dammed You temptress you of Sugar and caramel complete Go and seek some other soul To make them fatter And leave me In peace to binge On salad and lemon fresh water And my celery apple carrot platter " © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Reviews
