Morning was broken
She awoke With the birds Let out a long lost sigh And A careful mouthed silent but meaningful yawn So not to wake him Smiling she agreed To herself sensibly that Another 30 minutes or even seconds in bed Would ice her cake today Rearranged the soft and medium dented pillow mass In the 5 am dark But just Under the covers She smelt His never forgotten Silent but meaningful …..! All unapologetic Yes his Farts one after the other In clever unison The song 🎵 Unforgettable came to mind Yeh you guessed What he left her This fine Saturday Dawn Of dawns Separate beds and rooms was high on the agenda in her old age Wakeful 5am moment But coffee was now needed As she threw her covers astray She heard his blissful snores From the kitchen Down the hall Mén she mouthed Accidentally Letting out hers as she poured her cuppa The scent of coffee Righted all that was wrong The bird laughed The cat cried The dog followed suit With the man of that house The sun shone again that day nevertheless © 2025 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Reviews
