I once met...

I once met...

A Poem by Kaanu Rennie

I met this girl one day...

She lived in a Penthouse on 53rd street.

She gave vibes off of desperate, depressed, and hate.

She said she broke up with her boyfriend...

and there was no reason to live,

I sat there in disgust as she complained forever to me.

I met this man one day...

His name may have been Moses, but lets just say thats his name.

He smiled through the whole conversation as I sat down to talk,

Moses lost his mama when he was two...

He lived wherever as long as he was sheltered from the gust of winds that kept this earth cold.

Moses lost his mama when he was a teenager,

He’s been homeless ever since.

He uses the river to wash his two pair of clothes, that he has obviously outgrown.

Yet Moses, still had a smile glued to his face.

Moses made me look in the mirror and re evaluate life because I once saw a man whose name was moses, and he opened up my eyes and showed me what I’ve been looking for all along...
