Night In Darkness

Night In Darkness

A Poem by kanyinsola okafor
"

"...in the absence of stars and moonlight. "

"

In the depths of the night,
The ungodly hours forsaken by light,
I search for moonlight,
I beseech the stars to shine bright,
Leave me not in darkness. . .

In the depths of the darkness,
The clouds seemed to overflow with blackness,
I search for moonlight,
I beseech the stars to shine bright,
Leave me not without light. . .

Straining to see without a glint of light,
Although the darkness stretches out of sight,
I see a silver line,
I hope that the sky at last might,
In my path shine some light. . .

Waiting in hope for some form of light,
I pray my soul to endure through the night,
I see a glint of light,
The stars begin to glow with light,
The moon in my path shines it's light. . .

As the moon and stars cast their light,
And the forms of darkness no longer in sight,
I find my way through the night,
I trode in hurry along my path,
In fear that the sky might dim it's light. . .

Thanks for taking your time to read.
this poem is amazing!!! All I could visualize while reading this poem was a person (lost in the forest somehow) and is trying to find his way home.
