How Not to Love

How Not to Love

A Poem by Kaseda
"

A non-romantic poem about how you shouldn't love.

"
When you love there are so many things
Which are just so stupid to do.
So here I am to simply
Give a new view.

Don't expect me to know,
Every thing about you,
From the color of your eyes,
To the music you listen to.

I'm not gonna know
Every second of the day,
The size of your shoes,
And how much you weigh.

If I know everything about you
Then there's nothing to learn,
And if I can't learn even more,
Then there's nothing to earn.

Don't expect to have attention,
From me all the time,
And because I don't kiss you,
I'm not committing a crime.

Just because I don't want to talk,
Doesn't mean I love another,
Just because I don't give you a gift,
Doesn't mean I our love shouldn't go further.

You shouldn't require me all the time,
Or our relationship will grow rough,
If you truly love me like I do,
My presence should be enough.

And lastly don't make the mistake,
Of becoming addicted,
And simply saying, "I love you,"
And being unrestricted.

If you simply say it,
Though love isn't felt,
Then like ice cream,
Your love life will melt.

Don't fall in love with the idea of love,
For if you truly lack it, it will create disaster.
You will need to realize if your love is true,
And in the end, control you must master.

This is how not to love,
Like so many do,
So after you read this,
Try to take a new view.
