![]() Goddesses of SirenuseA Poem by Kat Bishop
I hear your songs at night
They harmonise with the sailor's screams A sound that warms my heart He knocked on my door at the crack of dawn He danced in my garden I asked him not But still he danced Till my flowers were but a crimson dye The women in my village say The garden was never real But I see the wounds where the thorns pierced The neighbours said I stood still not a sound escaped my mouth But when the lights die and the shadows dance I hear the screams of my garden Goddesses of Sirenuse He screams as you steal what he stole from me And you sing in delight A song that quiets the screams of what once was
