i picked/I vowed/i have added. this poem is inspirational because the narrator has realized that through their own actions they can change their own situation! names can be quite powerful things but to add one to a list of things survived is to affirm that one has conquered it. barely noted or a lot, what matters is that the narrator has taken a new breath of life. the process of rebirth has begun, which means ending old relationships to people, the world, or whatever else, to begin new ones. thank you for sharing this moment with us :)

Thank-you for your insightful review.
Kind regards Katrina
This is the kind of poem where the narrator sounds like he/she is trying to swear off someone, but it isn't coming out as sounding very convincing. I would predict that this narrator will likely be thinking about this heartbreaker within six seconds of finishing that last line saying it's "barely noted"! Yeah, right! I love when a poem comes across as ironic like this & which shows us fighting our human foibles (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
An apt title. Not all memories are good of course but unfortunately they are part of who we are...they make us if not better, then maybe a wee bit wiser. Better able to deal with the next choice.
I try to write inspirational poetry....short poems mainly... though I do write other light hearted stuff too...I have just started writing again recently and I hope most of you will view and honestly .. more..
