Can You See Them

Can You See Them

A Poem by Kaylee Marlin

Can You See Them

I see the pain

In their eyes

I see the hurt

When they cry

I see the life

They wish they had

I see the future

Of all their lives

I see the sadness and sorrow

From every tear they shed

I see the hidden doors

Where all their secrets are kept

I see the children

With hate in their hearts

I see the parents

Fighting to stay alive

I see the darkness

Crossing all their minds

I see the shadows

Grasping their souls

I see the world

Falling before their eyes

Can you see them

Hidding from the light

Can you see them

Shielding away the pain

Can you see them

Trying to forget happiness

Can you see them

In nothing but the darkness

Can you see them

Walking towards their deaths

Can you see them............

I didn't think so...
