Not even friends

Not even friends

A Poem by Kaysie

You finally decided to talk to me today.
I was surprised that you actually said hey.
I tried to ignore you, like you usually do.
But for some reason i still want to talk to you.
We didn't talk much, but there's so much to say.
But I guess things are going to stay this way.
I could tell you didn't want to be talking to me.
I wish you'd just leave me alone, honestly.
Your lingering around makes it harder to forget you.
It'll be easier if you would just forget me too.
Doesn't seem like it'd be a hard thing to do.
You've got girls you want more than me.
Us being friends was just never meant to be.

I completely understand this poem. I've been there more than once. Sometimes we just want them to fade out of our lives so we don't have to see the difference between what is and what was....while at the same time we still naively wish things could go back to how they were.
This is a good piece. It felt like just pure thoughts transcribed onto paper. Very real. All laid out without fancy figures of speech and word plays. Very honest. Keep it up.
