Dreams

Dreams

A Poem by Mortimer Brewster

They embrace in the night
She is visibly nervous but is longing for his touch
He pulls her into his chest as their tongues begin their fight
She begins to relax and pulls him closer refusing to release her clutch
He kisses her neck as she runs her fingers through his hair
He pulls her in again for a long passionate kiss
This pleasure was causing her to be lightheaded as if she was low on air
She swooned in his arms and almost succumbed to the bliss
But this wold not stop her as she gently ran her fingers across his chest
They looked into each other's eyes answer she could feel the spark
She felt her feelings finally released no longer repressed
As their passion reaches its climax everything goes dark
She opens her eyes and realizes it was all a dream
There was no man in her bed nothing but for silent walls
It felt like it was a bad joke or a poorly timed meme
And still she smiled as she felt she was out of her depression
Her feelings were free finally put to flight
She remembered all the feelings and knew without question
She would find a man that would help her relive the dream that night
