Thread of life

Thread of life

A Poem by Forever Mine
"

The fates are funny that way...

"

Life twists and turns

As the thread of life

Spirals out of control

The fates are funny that way;

Immortality never lasts

Even with liquid red

Coursing through our veins

The fates are funny that way;

Scissors snipping away

Severing the thread

That binds us to this life

The fates are funny that way;

Heroes are gone and past

Lives are dead and wasted

Pools of liquid red fill the holes

The fates are funny that way;

Buildings fall and crumble

Bridges break and tremble

Lives are crushed

The fates are funny that way;

People pray for salvation

Nobody is home however

They pray to the wrong Gods don’t you see?

The fates are funny that way;

Life twists and turns

As the thread of life

Spirals out of control

The fates are funny that way

Any and all criticism is welcome. Also, in the 6th stanza i'm not saying any one religion is wrong, thought i would say that so people wouldnt get offended.

The fates are definitely funny that way, Haha. Sometimes so much so that it's a bit ironic and annoying. Very excellent piece you got here. You did a great job.

This piece has a sense of raw honesty to it, one that instantly catches the readers attention and presses them on to keep reading and to really get into every word that you've written. Its a great poem, I love the use of repetition that you have and the concept is one that is not heard of enough, and needs to be heard of a lot more. Oh the fates, what a concept, beautifully grasped. This was a great piece, thank you for sharing. :)

Life is ironically funny in many ways... I understand what you mean by the religions... I agree a very cleaver look into life's twisted ways and the mistakes we make dealing with it.
