Only Every Second

My heart breaks,

Every day I face without you is a day filled with heartache,

Every day filled with an ocean full of pain.

I can’t find an escape,

No matter how hard I try,

No matter how fast my feet move,

I can’t run away.

I think about you only every second,

Only every hour that fades away to a new day.

No matter how much time passes,

No matter how long we’re apart,

No matter what others will try to tell you as you grow older,

No matter how much they try to make thee memories of me fade away,

I will still always love you,

Only every second of everyday.

There are those who will do their best to poison your mind against me,

They will swear that I never loved you,

That you were never truly in my heart.

They will try to be what we both know they aren’t,

They’ll try to fill my shoes,

Try to convince you of many untruths that you’ll see right through.

Even though I can’t be with you

Even though I can’t hold you,

Won’t be allowed to watch you grow,

I’ll still be here loving you,

Trying to get you back home where you belong.

Til then know my Maria that not one second passes that I don’t think of you,

Only every second does my love grows for you.

So if there’s every a single doubt of how I feel,

Remember that only every second…

Every minute … Every hour…Every day that passes by…

My heart still beats for you.

I pretty much agree with the other reviewers so far. When first reading it I have one impression (which admittedly I didn't like) and then it changed to make it feel as if your child was involved. I have to admit that I traditionally don't like poetry written from or about personal matters. To be honest I don't really like poetry at all. This was a good piece however and enjoyable to read.

Wow I like this alot, I was thinking of someone you loved and then it changed so it was nice.... Usually people don't use names in poetry but I think it was perfect to put it in for this poem.

[The Flawed]

Well this good and for me there was a nice twist, because I started reading this poem and I thought that it was written for your lover, and then I realised that it was actually for your child that is perhaps living with your Ex partner.
But what do I know?
Well done
