The Problem with Growing Up

A toy is living like all other creatures;

And scary monsters run like bugs,

From each brave toy with protective features.

Each toy will protect whether it’s cat or pug.

They are the portals between life and death.

The young believe in the magic they hold;

In stores, on shelves all young kids see their breath.

Oh life spills out, if kids can love and hold.

All love that they can hug, and pet and feed.

For each, a toy will bring not some, but tons,

Of comfort small adults will want and need.

As soon as bought, imagination runs:

Yet, all imagination ages and will fade.

Magic all forgotten that the toys once made.
