No stars here.

No stars here.

A Poem by Fairy Khan

I hope
the sun shines bright where you are
and the sky is forever so blue,
the flowers on my side have withered
and the nights aren't as beautiful too.

I hope
the storms don't know where you are
and you find the peace you never found,
the water has crept above my head
and I can see darkness all around.

I hope
you find happiness and love again
and your earth-gold eyes find their flare,
the depths of my misery are fathomless
and there are no stars to shine here.

some one said when hope dies everything dies. So we keep pushing amidst the storms and the withering of flowers around us

That's so true. Hope keeps us going on.
The poem made the reader feel the kindness and the fear. Last lines made the reader feel the hope and need for safe place. Thank you my friend for sharing the powerful words and thoughts.

Thank you so much.
Wow, this sounds like the narrator is suicidal and praying that the people left behind will find peace.

Many thank yous for the appreciation. It surely does feel that way.
A sad poem. I feel a poet overburdened, drowning even in sorrow. Made me think of depression and how awful that can be. It is temporary, though when you go through it, it doesn't seem that way. You conveyed those sorrowful emotions well here Fairy.

It won't last, you will work your way through it Fairy. Take care.
Glug! Glug! Glug! I get the feeling this narrator is slowing going under, inundated by a flood of dismal experiences/imaginings -- then you juxtapose this dreary feeling with the way she pushes her hero up higher & higher into hopefulness. But she can't apply this hopefulness to herself. This is how many humans react to adversity, assuming others are having a better experience, hoping others are, at least. It seems others are up high & enjoying the light when we succumb to the dark. Sometimes we need a hero to cling to, to distract ourselves from how dark it is down here. I love the flippant tone of denial in your poem, understating how bad it feels & not thinking to ask for help. It's all about focusing on some separate bright bauble to play down our despair (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

This means so much to me! *smile*
A deeply sad and disturbing piece FKK. The protagonist sends good wishes to others but is drowning themselves in sadness and is struggling for survival. Very poignant.
