“Breaking Off Into The Ether” - Khat

“Breaking Off Into The Ether”

.

I start to tremble, my mind goes blank, and I’m stuck on top of a lamppost,

The saltshaker comes undone,

I am ragged,

My anxiety is bad, so I turn to distraction,

I don’t know what I’m afraid of, so I try to push it aside,

I’m starting to notice I’m more,

Perhaps, there is more wrong with me than I thought,

In anticipation, I am nervous,

My nerves are on a ledge, and to ease them back, I don’t focus on what’s triggering them,

Instead, I go to my own makeshift wonderland and follow the perforated lines down from the middle,
