The Scop

The Scop

A Poem by AKhaus
"

the unity of day and night

"
From dusk to dawn and dawn to dusk each moment begins and ends with a kiss.
As the darkness lifts into the day, my mother says to father, one more kiss before we fray.
As day turns to darkness, my fathers says to my mother, one more kiss before the dark takes you away.
Curled in the clouds as the night sinks and the day lifts, mother weeps for these brief moments of bliss.
Hanging below the skyline as the dark begins its flood, father wails for these seconds that complete him.
The polarity of love torn from their chests as the sun dies and the moon rests.
What was dark is now light and no color can define the quarreled love between the two.
