castles

castles

A Poem by AKhaus

We slay to protect
We lie to hide what we need to survive
We taste death to never forget we're living
We craft the castle with sweat and blood
We make towers to hold our sins within
We lay in the cold, dark stone walls to feel the ghostly shadows hovering so we can hear our chains to this life...
We sacrifice ourselves for the unattainable
I built that castle for you...I put you up there to rule my heart.
I let you take advantage of me so you could feel powerful and free...
I thought loving you would make you see that I would stay through it all, but you only took more
