VITRIOLE

VITRIOLE

A Poem by Kieran James McGovern

If the gestures of resentment you’ve presented

Are meant to offend me

At least mention that intention with less discretion

I.E., please address me directly

Yes, convey your contempt and contention expressly

Your pretentious nonsense and malevolence

Will never affect me

You’re attempting to wreck me

I’m not bothered though

By innocuous bravado

You’re steaming, I’m seeing your façade so macho

You lead, you succeed, that’s my mantra

Better yet my motto

But we can’t all be leaders

I guess you were born to follow

But if you’re trying to stay face

And think life is a race

You’ve got to place the bar high

Set the pace, or so try

To climb at my rate, no lie

I’m sly like a bomb on Wall Street on the Fourth of July

My design is deliberate

Though I try to be considerate of the ignorant

S**t, this is how I make my living

And I refuse to bicker with little children

Through others angst and doings, its hard to maintain our personal stance!
This is vivid hon, beautifully so!
I like your work :)
