Alone

Alone

A Poem by Kimberly Navarro
"

sad poetry

"
I go to church alone.
I travel alone.
I eat alone.
I sleep alone.

Companionship
How necessary is it?

Men try to pursue me.
But i take pride in rejecting them.
What do they have to offer me
That I can't do by myself?
Or that I can't do without?
Nothing.

I can spare myself the problems, the drama,
The heartaches and deception.
But one thing I lack is the intimate connection
The mutual affection

And mutual emotional dependency.
It's a reality
That companionship is a necessity.

Man wasn't made to be alone.

But I...
Walk alone.
Go to church alone.
Travel alone.
Eat alone.
Sleep alone.

Companionship versus troubles.
Does the end justify the means?
Is it okay to be accompanied
And feel the stress unseen?
To be stressed
Depressed
Frustrated and suppressed.
Just to be caressed
By the man that you confess
To be your husband until death?

I rather spare me the stress
And continue...

To walk alone.
Go to church alone.
Travel alone.
Eat alone.
Sleep alone.

Cuz I was born alone
And alone I will die

Just me, myself and I.

My thoughts? Well, life is never "fair" EXCEPT that it happens to us all. People are human and we have flaws - some can be dealt with, some accepted ...but you never EVER forget the hurt-full words - even though you might forgive them (once or even twice). Getting to say a "goodbye" doesn't always happen and even when you do AND mean it - the silence after is the loudest experience we have.

You asked...

Walking in another's shoes IS real for some.

Maybe your bio says it all.....not surprised that you would suggest going it alone. Too bad you think of it as a trade-off. You skeptic you ( : O )

Well it is sad however sometimes it is in fact easier to be alone. Perhaps being alone isn't the worse thing all of the time. Well done.

Um...does the end justify the means?
This is indeed a sad ... lonely piece. Gives me a sense of a heart broken too many times. We'll done .
