Frail.

Frail.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A look at a time that I will never forget, and yes, it is really good to be back, I've missed you all.

"

A healthy mind had lingered into frailty,

Once bright with ideas and unbounded light,

I crash into pillars of madness and hate,

No way for me to win true this false fight.

A spark of hope smelt faint and without reach,

White coats come in, go out, take poking turns,

I wriggle and sear a thing never mentioned,

Please no, this poison runs free and it burns.

A final battle commences within ones very heart,

Wills stand strong for both man and the forlorn,

Make no mistake with a power as strong as this one,

My now friend, your name is hushed because I won!

From personal experience, sounds like someone who has been to a facility for mental health or just health in general (hence using the words white coats, and being poked at as if being tested). That is definitely a hardship and I could feel it being radiated throughout the poem.

I love this perspective on time, but I see so much more in this:) The nature of time carries such an impact in all of our lifes, as you have depicted here:) Age is something to be welcomed in my opinion, though it brings us closer to our demise, there is something better at the end of time:) Anyway, beautiful work:)

Your welcome:)
hmmm, my honesty and my spirit.
well, here goes.

poetically- beautifully worded, and just enough bump in the flow to indicate both interior and exterior confrontation.

emotionally- it made me want to cry, then punch somebody, then punch myself, then wave a victory flag

philosophically- I've found, for me, that the only way to 'win' such battles is to stop fighting....especially to stop fighting myself.

hi Thomas, welcome back. A new resolve on the wings of a new relation sounds good but the style and abandon, as always, is impeachable. A great wave of a poem.

What is tolerance? It is the consequence of humanity. We are all formed of frailty and error; let us pardon reciprocally each other's folly - that is the first law of nature.

lol glad I could help!
my dear poet, your absence was both profoundly noticed and resonant. it is with relish which i embraced this write of yours. it is, perhaps, a well fought battle you have endured and a sizable victory because your writing has a new fire quality which brandishes the weapons of vengeance and survival. thank you for sharing with me this excellent piece of writing, and welcome back!

the toughest battles are within ourselves and often it makes us feel crazy...i particularly like the line "no way for me to win true this false fight"

false fight...like we are fighting ourselves but there is no real reason to..

two spots i saw.."commences within one's very heart"
and "my now friend, your name is hushed..."

such a well worded piece of writing...

love the way you turn a phrase.
