Stone.

Stone.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A quick piece to compete with!

"
The only destination bound against her windowpane,
That spirit bound by power and blood,
Her life force a crafted memory witches,
Hail, the seeker arise from the family flood.

Call forth the circle of sisters four,
Arrangements now met for a spell to rise,
Gather close you devils and lets rip him,
Reading from a book of skin the real prize.

Faith comes and goes in washed waves,
Spring time harrows hell and signs no,
Come now women of strength invoke thee,
A clever little pun from stone it does grow.

Hi Thomas,

Interesting. I've read several of your poems. They seem to have a dark edge. That is a good thing. Some of them rip into the mind with blood curdling anguish, without a knife, without the handle, without the blade. The Impact is important. It it still there. Have a great day. Earl

A new beginning ... that starts from the source .... the founding stone of man ... but promises to rise to its height ... in a new found meaning of self. Cryptic and mystical ... but meaningful.

I enjoyed the complete poem, but the above lines I agreed with 100%. Always a pleasure to read your poetry.

I'm glad to see you are alive and well. I hope to read more of your work ASAP
The dark beauty of your poem, to me, speaks to women taking their empowerment for themselves, and the magic that pours into the world.

A stone that sits in the dirt has two sides ... one smooth and one jagged. Make sure you always stay on the right side. Magical and eerie write. Love it:)

Thank you very much x
One of the reasons I set up these contests is to 'read' poets that I haven't yet had the pleasure to do so. And your submission is indeed a treat. A visit to 'the dark side" made the hair's on the back of my neck bristle. Haunting visions! The "Ten" "hit the nail on the head". Thank you for joining in.

You're welcome!
reading from a book of skin the real prize. This reads like a chant - well penned and a little on the spooky side.
