The Color Blood

The Color Blood

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A statement to those of difference

"
His skin soft his hair short,
His muscles defined his name tort,
Her nails long her lashes curled,
Her eyes sparkling singing her world,
Taunt their enemy black their curse,
Brown their confusion KKK there worse,
The same as I gone in the flood,
We came one way the colour blood

well now … I purposefully find my way to the earliest entry or perhaps the one that has migrated to the last line in order to see just where this venture has launched

we are all one! You use tortured words in this write. Metering and appearance looks great. Imagery goes brown to red --all on the darker side --which fits the theme well. It seems there is more you want to say though.

A wise man can say much with little words. Well written. Blood has no words and speaks loudly. Your portrayed that in truth.

This was short and concise and says a lot.

This breathes with the broken heart of the those who have suffered from pushing the boundaries of "normalcy" that society tries to shove down our throats. People sometimes are like blood thirsty animals who look for a weakness in others and jump on it the first chance they get. To be who you are is something that you and you alone have to deal with. So you might as well embrace it and love it! Screw what society thinks. Its views are mostly messed up anyway, marvelous poem, 100.

We all have basically the same wants, needs and desires too.
Felt a rush from the swift current of your poem.

We come out not only the color of blood, but without blood there is no life.

This is a stunning, scathing indictment of stereotypes and stupidity.

"We came one way the colour blood" An absolutely incontrovertible truth...and very frightening for some!
