A Mother's Goodbye.

A Mother's Goodbye.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

For anyone who has lost their Mother - my prayer is with you! This was written for my Grandmother (My Mother's, Mother). However I do dedicate it to all Mother's no longer with us!

"
A stare of blindness,
A touch of prayer,
A cast of silence,
Your no longer there.
A Mother's touch,
A heart of gold,
A mind of secrets,
None you told.
A home you made,
A home for all,
A home that's safe,
The home did fall.
A Mother is gone,
An angel is born,
A memory has left,
Her children torn.
A love has not stopped,
A love is still here,
A love is forever,
Her love is near.

This is so beautiful, and simple, and true -- now I know this poem has had over 600 views, and I would not be able to go thru them all, but the first your seems like it should be you're, but was pointed out previously, so maybe you intended it that way.

Great poem Thomas, beautiful flow and rhyming, fine tribute. I'd be surprised if you don't get asked if it might be borrowed for tributes to other people's mothers.

Very poignant. Really like the simplicity of this - it somehow makes it more sincere and heartfelt that long stanzas filled with unnecessary words. Great write :)

Nearly made me shed tears, very beautiful Thomas. I do have to say, that your quite a good poet. I haven't lost my mother, but my friend's mother I was very close to an my own grandmother. This is a very sweet writing for all mothers, excellent job.
