Rift!

Rift!

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A look at what may happen in your dreams, tonight!

"

Screams fill my head with soothing thoughts,

Blood, red as lips linger in my skin and print,

His heart still pumps without care or motion,

My eyes narrow to form a stellar squint.

Ceremony negates force behind murder,

Kissing him lightly as thanks for the gift,

Witches, satanists, evil are now people,

No more will science be stated as rift.

Gather your illusions for truth is bared,

Cater for no one, but parents that stay,

Grave matters are no more holding to you,

Two men are now insects with no further fray.

Special treats for cats that tell tales,

Mindless spells are true words for me,

Take care to sleep well for tonight,

I may be there, with a kiss, to be free.

No talent has been lost in the time you've been gone my friend. It seems you've grown in talent.
Dreams are a very interesting aspect of life, and a very interesting topic to discuss as it seems not many people have the same dreams or expiriences. They tell a story that can either frighten you, bring you to tears, make you bubble with joy, or clench with rage.
That very first line seems it should contradict itself in a literal sense, but the more you look at it the more you see screams can be soothing. It just all depends on the perspective.
A very nice write for being back my friend. I enjoyed reading.

It's dark and thoughtful at the same time. Some of the lines are really awesome like- 'Gather your illusions for truth is bared'... Very interesting and enjoyable depiction and imagination. Enjoyed it.

The mixture of horror with a hint of humor is refreshing and very well done. Numerous visions passed through my mind as I read this (and none of them sparkled!) I enjoy a good bit of horror, especially when it is well constructed.

A nice journey into thoughts and dreams. I do my best to keep away from those witches and satanists. I have enough demons to control. I like the complete poem. The ending made the poem complete. Good to be able to read your poetry. A excellent poem.
